Empordà, in far northeastern Catalonia, sits between the Pyrenees Mountains and the Mediterranean sea—a rugged but beautiful wind-swept landscape. Winemaker Anna Espelt (a biologist by training) has shifted the family estate toward certified organic farming, prioritizing soil health and biodiversity in vineyards that range from sandy coastal plots to higher-elevation slate. Garnatxa thrives here, developing ripeness without heaviness thanks to constant airflow and maritime influence.

Fermented primarily in stainless steel with restrained oak aging, the 2021 preserves freshness and site expression. Notes of red plum, wild strawberry, dried thyme, and a subtle saline edge lead into fine tannins and bright acidity. The finish carries a gentle herbal bitterness typical of Mediterranean Garnatxa. A natural match for grilled vegetables, lamb, or smoky paprika-driven dishes.
